Microsoft 365 is our core platform and suits the majority of the organisations we support. There are two situations where it does not, and where a managed Nextcloud fits better.
Working with very large files
If your team works with CAD drawings, video, GIS datasets, design files or scientific data, cloud sync tools become a bottleneck. Multi-gigabyte files take too long to synchronise, local disks fill up, and version conflicts multiply.

Nextcloud and Microsoft 365 work together
This is not a choice between the two. Most of our Nextcloud clients run Microsoft 365 for email, Teams, Office applications and everyday documents, and use Nextcloud specifically for the large or sensitive datasets that do not sit well in SharePoint.
We connect the two so that sign-in is consistent and users do not have to think about which system they are in. Because we manage both, there is never a question of which supplier owns a problem.
